Easter Surprises

Saturday the kids decorated their eggs and some sugar cookies which were delicious and easy to make. You get the recipe here.

The next morning the kids searched the house for their Easter baskets so see what goodies the Easter bunny left for them.

We were invited by our neighbor, Maria, to go to her family's house to celebrate Easter and join them for their Easter hunt for the kids in Maricopa. They live on about 80 acres of land with 6 trailers on the land. They have their own little "park", swimming pool, a shooting range, goats, and chickens. It was definitely and interesting Easter. We watched Maria's uncle shoot a rattle snake that surprised them out in the fields. Her aunt carried it back to the park to show it to the kids to make sure they never tried to catch one. We did learn a lot from Maria's aunt about rattle snakes. Apparently after you kill a rattle snake you have to cut its head off or it can still bite and the bite is deadly. They found a mojave rattle snake which is deadlier than a diamondback rattle snake.

The kids had fun and Conner was the big winner finding the $5 egg and Porter found one of the prize winning goose eggs. The three kids found lots of mone eggs and played with lots of cool and exciting things they don't get to see at home. Tayler spent most of her time playing with a famous turtle named Shelly. Shelly won $100 on America's Funniest Home Video's because she plays peak-a-boo.

On the playground there were some fun toys for the kids to play on. Conner and Tayler had a blast on the "merry-go-round" nad Poter loved the circle swing.
